Salon Music of the Silver Screen

  • Natchez Festival of Music The Towers (map)

In Europe during the 19th century, the “Salon” was a popular type of private, musical, and social event that took place in grand homes of significant patrons of music and musicians. It usually featured a pianist performing Romantic music, but could include music from the stage as well. Our Salon Music from the Silver Screen will be an evening of music from great films of the golden era of film.  You will hear iconic songs like “Singin’ in the Rain,” “I got Rhythm,” and “Try to Remember,” as well as music from films like The Wizard of Oz, Hello Dolly, Annie Get Your Gun, and many more. There is no better city in the world for a “Salon” than Natchez, and there is no more beautiful setting for such an event than “The Towers.”
